Respect Life
Mission of Ministry
To protect and respect human life from conception until natural death.
Activities
- To make people aware of the issues involved e.g. fetal research,
partial birth abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia, and capital
punishment.
- To alert people to proposed legislation and practices that threaten
human life and dignity because they directly attack life itself.
- To provide direction to those seeking help with life/death decisions.
- To be a witness that human life is a gift from God and to defend
human life in all its stages and in every condition.
- To be a voice reminding our legislative representatives that laws
which legitimize abortion, assisted suicide, and euthanasia are unjust
and wrong.
- To encourage solutions to violent crime that reflect the dignity of the
human person urging our nation to abandon the use of capital
punishment.
- To pray to the God of all life that the Culture of Life will prevail
over the Culture of Death.
- To sponsor fundraisers so that money can be sent to the St. Agnes
Home, Birthright, Rachael Group; for mailings; and for honorariums
for guest speakers and homilists.
The Respect for Life Committee meets every third Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
in the Hart House. The contact person is Robert McGinnis at 673-0064.
