In today`s Gospel Jesus tells people how he is going to suffer and die but then he is rudely interrupted by his good friend, Peter, who says something like, "look, boss, this approach is never going to work with people. If you want to be popular, you have to say what people want to hear, you have to talk about success and prosperity. Nobody wants to hear about suffering and death. They want happiness now. Believe me, I know what I am talking about. If you want people to like you, if you want people to follow you, tell them what they want to hear.

What Peter says makes Jesus very angry. Jesus calls Peter, Satan, and he tells him to get out of his sight unless he is prepared to hear what he has to say. And this is what Jesus has to say. If you want to be one of my followers, then you must be prepared to sacrifice instant gratification. If you want to be one of my followers, then you have to be prepared to live a life like mine. If you want to be one of my followers, then you have to be prepared to take my message and share it with other people. It is that message that will bring you happiness. When you spread your happiness to other people and you will find fulfillment.

This story is about a first grade teacher on the opening day of school. She was teaching her class about Church by illustrating it.

Here is the church
Here is the steeple
Open the doors and
Here are the people

She asked everybody in class to put their hands together to make a church when much to her embarrassment she noticed a little girl who only had one hand. This is what the teacher did.She took the child`s one hand and put it together with her own hand and said: "Sarah, let`s make church together." How can we make Church together?
